Moorlands cottage in Brighstone, is located on the west of the Isle of Wight in an area of outstanding natural beauty.

The peaceful location, access to beach, and beautiful cottage garden make it an ideal getaway for couples or families. For those wanting an active getaway, the cottage is surrounded by walking and cycling tracks along the coast or into the downs as well as Brighstone Forest and the TennysonTrail. If you are looking for a quiet, cosy, and secluded getaway then the cottage is ideally situated to stargaze, nature watch or simply enjoy a cup of tea or glass of wine on the small private decked island over the stream.
The village of Brighstone is amongst the most picturesque on the island and has a very well stocked shop specialising in fresh produce from the island. For a well-deserved night off the village pub, The Three Bishops, has an extensive menu and welcomes children.

The local tea shop also serves a delicious cream tea or light lunch. Whilst exploring the village why not try to spot the anchors engraved on some buildings, which served as sign to smugglers needing a place to hide.
The popular areas of Freshwater, Alum Bay, and Yarmouth are approximately 15 mims drive away.
The cottage has a modern kitchen complete with a Dualit toaster, coffee machine, range oven, microwave, and wine fridge. It is kitted out with everything you need to make anything from a slice of toast to a roast dinner.
To ensure a relaxing night in, the cottage has a cosy sitting room with Smart TV, free Wi-Fi, and Xbox. It also has a games room that has a pool table that can easily be converted into table tennis or air hockey, as well as a large selection of board games, books, and toys.

How to find the cottage
The Sat nav postcode is PO30 4DJ. The cottage is tucked back from the main road running through Brighstone Village. Look out for 2 SLOW signs painted on the road, the cottage is opposite these on the right-hand side with a narrow driveway alongside the cottage.

There are hourly foot and car ferries running from Southampton and Portsmouth. The ferries are operated by WIght Link ferries and Red Funnel Ferries and take approx 45 mins to cross the Solent.
The quickest route to the island is by Hovercraft, please note that stormy weather can result in the Hovercraft being cancelled. The crossing is high speed and great for those in rush to start their holiday, taking just 15 mins to cross the Solent.
Their are ferry ports in FIshbourne, Cowes and Yarmouth, the hovercraft comes into Ryde Pier. The cottage is approx 25 mins from all of them.
If you are travelling on foot there is a comprehensive bus service that covers the island. From most of the ferry ports you will need to take the bus to Newport and then transfer to route number 12. If you come into Yarmouth take route 7 to Freshwater and then route 12 to Brighstone. The Bus stop in Brighstone is a couple of minutes walk to the cottage.
